Our Story

The Cerimele family has been involved in contracting and construction for many years. They can trace their involvement in civil engineering back to 1882 when Francesco Paolo Cerimele founded his company in Italy. This company operated through family succession in Italy until 1968. A staggering 86 years of contracting and construction experience in Italy.

The Cerimele family arrived in South Africa in 1971 and immediately started working at what they knew best, contracting and construction. 

They established Itinera Construction in 1971, which operated until 1979 when Cerimele Construction Company (Pty) Ltd was established. The company has operated very successfully since then and has established a sound reputation in contracting and construction in the 40 years of operating under South African conditions.

In 1988 Cerimele Construction (Botswana) Co (Pty) Ltd was established. 

The company successfully completed a P22 million (R30 million) subcontracted to Morteo-Condotte of Italy for Gaborone West Phase 3 Water and Sewerage Reticulation and as main contractor projects for The Ministry of Local Government Lands and Housing; and for The Ministry of Water Affairs of Botswana.

Apart from tendering for work in Botswana this company has tendered for work in Harare, Mauritius, Benguela (Angola), Beira (Mozambique), Lilongwe (Malawi) and Lake Victoria (Tanzania).
